A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss messages because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a spelling error. The negative aspect of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited email messages, but this problem can be resolved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming email messages to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting

In case you have a cloud website hosting with our company and you’d like to enable the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox that you have in the account, it’ll take literally only one single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in your account. You can select one address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to misspelled addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you have active email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you remove the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
